Ngukurr

Ngukurr is a remote Aboriginal community located on the Roper River in south‑east Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. The community has a population of around 1,300 people and is home to multiple language and clan groups, with strong cultural governance and community leadership.

Ngukurr joined the SCfC program in 2013. SCfC in Ngukurr is guided by the Strongbala Pipul Wanbala Bois Komiti, the community’s SCfC Local Community Board. Yugul Mangi Development Aboriginal Corporation is the Facilitating Partner and works with the board and community to implement the SCfC Community Plan in line with locally identified priorities.
